Course Overview

Two essential features are present in every project no matter how simple or complicated they are. In the first place, all projects must be planned out in advance if they are to be successfully executed. Secondly, the execution of the project must be controlled to ensure that the desired results are achieved.

This is a multi-disciplinary program that exposes students to various disciplines that are appropriate to the development of planning giving special emphasis to the planning and management of development projects and programs. The program is designed to train participants in project planning and management at urban, rural and regional levels; produce professionals with a firm theoretical and practical background in planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs at different spatial levels and equip students with research skills on project planning and management.

Module Two

  • Planning in Project Management
  • Review of the project progress
  • Monitoring and evaluation of project progress

Module Three

  • Project cycle management
  • Monitoring and Evaluation; paradigms, principles and concepts
  • Infrastructure planning and management

There are three assignments (continuous assessment tests) and one examination to be offered at the end of the course. Assignments account for 70%, while Examination accounts for 30% of the mark. Upon completion of the course, you shall be issued with a Certificate and a course transcript.

Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a Certificate of Merit and a transcript.
